Pediatric Audiology
Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP)
Neonatal Screening and/or Follow-Up

Comprehensive hearing test which includes air- and bone-conduction, speech audiometry, and immittance audiometry
Assessment of Balance and Dizziness
Test of the central auditory nervous system (CANs) using evoked potentials (EPs).
Examination of the the earliest portion of the auditory brainstem response (ABR) useful in the diagnosis and progression of Meniere's disease
Newborns to Adolescents
Computerized system to quantify a person's ability to maintain balance while standing, and under differing test conditions. Used in conjunction with VNG/ENG and to monitor progress of balance disorders.
Examination of the Otolith system of the inner ear.
Testing of Sensory Cells of the Inner Ear
On occasion a newborn fails a hearing screening in the hospital and requires follow-up. Also, there are instances where births take place in the home and a hearing screening is required. Madison Audiology performs the necessary otoacoustic emission screenings. Generally, transient evoked responses (TEOAEs) are performed with the criteria for passing being 3 half-octave bands with amplitudes of 5 dB or greater in each of the 5 band tested between 1000 and 4000 Hz.
A major part of the practice of audiology is concerned with the evaluation and fitting of hearing instruments. Madison Audiology fits and dispenses the most contemporary digitial hearing instruments available.
Forensic audiological services are performed when there is litigation concerning a loss of hearing, loss of balance, or a combination of both.
The injury may be caused by neglect, employment-related environments, accident, or when there is a question about the causal effect of the hearing loss.
Hearing aid supplies such as batteries and wax guards may be obtained from this office by calling. The materials will be sent to you in the mail. You may also stop in to the office during normal working hours
for these supplies. The tab color on the battery denotes the battery
size. All battery manufacturers use the same colors for the various sizes.
So if you use Rayovac, Duracell, or Energizer the tab colors will all be
the same. In addition, the battery numbers are frequently followed by letters. These may be ignored in most instances.
